Local Groups to Receive Champlin Foundation Grants

The Champlin Foundation has been around since 1932 and has awarded more than $665 million to fund capital projects for nonprofit organizations throughout Rhode Island.

The latest cycle of funding oversees 11 organizations as first-time Champlin grantees.

Six organizations in South Kingstownthe University of Rhode Island Foundation and Alumni Engagement, Camp JORI, Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale, and South County Healthhave been awarded funds, following the Champlin Foundation's distribution of $10 million in grants amongst 93 non-profits in critical service.

The $10 million in capital funding brings the foundation's funding total on the year to just under $18 million, reports the Providence Journal.

The money has been spread amongst 24 total communities statewide and will be used to revitalize historic buildings, grow facilities, improve safety, and enhance outreach.
